Grant Thornton LLP Complex Financial Instruments Experienced Associate in New York, New York

As a CFI Associate, you’ll assist clients by applying traditional and cutting-edge valuation approaches and methods to a variety of analyses – all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. You will perform valuations of complex financial instruments such as equity derivatives, fixed income derivatives, equity instruments in complex capital structures, and contingent claims, utilizing statistical and financial concepts such as Monte Carlo simulation, stochastic processes, binomial lattices, and real options.

From day one, you’ll be empowered by the greater CFO Advisory team to help clients make the moves that will help them achieve their vision and help you achieve more, confidently.

Your day-to-day may include:

  • Perform market company and industry research in connection with ongoing engagements

  • Perform detailed financial analysis and interpret various financial and operational information

  • Assist with engagement administration including engagement set up

  • Work closely with the project team to promptly resolve client issues

  • Participate in complex finance instrument projects and services analyses and industry research

  • Perform professional business and complex instrument valuations such as equity derivatives, fixed income derivative models, equity instruments in complex capital structures, and contingent claims, utilizing advanced statistical and financial concepts such as stochastic processes, Monte Carlo simulation, binomial lattices (equity and interest rate models), and real options

  • Oversee and perform data- and document-intensive financial analysis and modeling/projections, and economic and statistical analysis

  • Other duties as assigned

You have the following technical skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or another quantitative field required

  • Minimum 1 year of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross industry clients at a national level with experience in business valuation required

  • Desire to pursue applicable professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ASA, CFA, CVA, ABV, AVA CIRA, CTP, CDBV, PMP or CSCP)

  • High level of expertise with computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word

  • Highly analytical with expertise in financial analysis and modeling, econometrics, statistics, and regression analysis

  • Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Effective project and time management skills for handling multiple priorities and simultaneous projects

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment

  • Can travel as needed. Expected travel is up to 5% per year

The base salary range for this position in the firm’s Los Angeles, New York, & Boston offices only is between $82,600 and $101,000. The base salary range for this position in the firm’s San Francisco office only is between $88,000 and $107,500. Grant Thornton is accepting applications on an ongoing basis.
