We are looking for aBusiness Analyst (BA)to join the Program Management Office within Grant Thornton’s Enterprise Transformation team. In this role you will work directly with Project Managers, stakeholders from various business units within the firm, and vendor partners to drive the planning, development, and successful delivery of application requirements and recommendations. Projects will be primarily delivered via Agile Scrum and will follow practice standards defined by the PMO for the various stages of the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities: Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions Leading sessions to discover and articulate clear project vision and objectives Documenting as-is and to-be scenarios of organizational processes, identifying problems to overcome or challenges to be met by the new solution Applying consistent practices for eliciting and elaborating functional and non-functional requirements, often working with business analysts from a vendor partner and ensuring their adherence to the standard practices Facilitating requirements gathering and process mapping sessions with stakeholders in group and individual settings Providing recommendations on methods to migrate from the current state to the envisioned state Working closely with Quality Assurance resources to validate all business requirements have been met for a given application Participating in all sprint ceremonies Working closely with the Project Manager to assist as needed in planning and monitoring project performance Participating in the continuous feedback loop aimed at optimizing BA-related activities and techniques Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business/technology or related field
3 years of experience working within an Agile Scrum environment developing epics, features and user stories
5 years of formal and proven experience with business process, business analysis, stakeholder analysis and user acceptance testing Working knowledge of common Agile tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira) Experience with MS Office, MS Visio and/or comparable modeling tool Ability to interview business stakeholders and facilitate workshops Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to multi-task; successfully manage concurrent projects of different sizes/types Analytical and creative abilities to problem solve and offer new/alternative solutions Ability to manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project’s lifecycle Ability to influence others to move toward consensus Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities Strong, professional presence; team player who works effectively at all levels of the organization
